Canadian Golf Brands to Embrace
With a refreshed website and blog, it Is time to repose seminal content, and this series was one of the most popular…some time to update and re-share. And besides, there truly are some amazing Canadian golf brands and I would love to let you know some of my favourites. In turn, please feel free to let me know some of yours too. There will be subsequent posts shared to this series over time.
As a golf brand owner myself, I watch and learn, seeking to emulate the success of others before me. But facts are, most importantly, I am a golfer too, and I am seeking the quality, innovation, and benefits from Canadian golf brands to help me perform my best, enjoy the game, and know I am keeping my money here in Canada. I am familiar with them all and am happy to connect with anyone to share more detail and answer any questions.
TripleBogey Brewing Co. – I would hazard a guess there are not many Canadian golfers who are not familiar with the tasty and refreshing libations that Geoff Tait and his team provide for us – on and off the golf course. It is quite possible I was one the earliest adopters, as within their first few months of business I was able to visit Taiter at his home for an order, so I was all set for a spring golf weekend. Facts are the products are excellent. And you will not find a more humble and hard-working man in this industry than Geoff Tait.
Cabot – While this is no longer an emerging global brand, the base of their success will always be in Cape Breton Island. And with plans to open a Cabot course in Revelstoke, BC soon, the broader national reach for Cabot will be welcomed. I had a chance to visit Cabot when there was a 10-hole preview on their initial Links course. And I have played the full eighteen. Not yet the Cliffs course, but that is something I plan to rectify. Still, this is a premium, world class Canadian brand which should be top of most golfers’ bucket lists.
Towel Tag – If you are not familiar with this Sault Ste. Marie-based business you may be wondering why a golf towel company is so prominent on this list. First, it is not a ranking or a contest. And smaller companies deserve a little love too. But this company is enjoying some growth, and their product line is simply outstanding. Technology that helps ensure you will not lose your golf towel again, along with clever and creative customization options that can help ensure your Towel Tag blends, or stands out, whatever your preference. I invite you to check them out. They make great gifts!
Golf PEI – Prince Edward Island is my favourite place to play golf in Canada. I love it and was impressed by the quality and diversity of golf courses on the gentle island. A 2014 golf trip has been the springboard for future golf visits. Golf PEI is the marketing arm for a group of courses on the Island. They offer comprehensive supports for anyone looking to visit and play. From booking tee times to recommendations on accommodations. When I booked my trip over a decade ago, staff were kind enough to connect me with a local seafood shack. Together we coordinated a fridge full of seafood to make our first night even more enjoyable.
Levelwear – This Canadian company continues to expand their global reach. On any global tour you are likely to see players wearing their clothing via their recognizable logo. I own many products and the quality and comfort for golf are outstanding. Hey, if it is good enough for Adam Hadwin, Corey Conners, and other Canadians on tour, it’s good enough for me!
Matchplay Golf Marketing – If you are planning to play golf at premium golf courses across North America, it is more than likely you’ve experienced the masterful skills of the Matchplay team as they provide comprehensive marketing solutions for golf brands (including courses). Cabot’s website is one of their more seminal pieces of work. Skilled professionals and a commitment to quality, this Canadian company helps businesses connect with golfers.
